Dyson JH01 Cruise Airflow: A Jet Engine for Your Living Room

Dyson's new JH01 Cruise Airflow combines heating, cooling, and air purification with a jet-inspired 450 l/s airflow. At 5,199 yuan, I look at whether this expensive hybrid makes sense for your home or if it's just pricey engineering.

Why put a climate control gadget in your room that whips air around at the speed of a jet engine?

The answer is simple: to solve drafts, stuffiness, and dust in the off-season all at once. Dyson has introduced the new JH01 Cruise Airflow air purifier in China, combining three functions at once: air purification, cooling, and room heating. But you shouldn't drop serious money on this hybrid blindly — you need to understand exactly what the manufacturer is charging a hefty sum for and whether the overpayment is justified.

Jet Engine Engineering

The device belongs to the Dyson HushJet lineup, which includes compact air purifiers and portable fans. The design of these devices is inspired by aviation technology and jet engine aerodynamics. The main trump card of the apparatus is pumping a huge volume of air in minimal time.

The device's airflow reaches 450 l/s, and the maximum heating temperature is 32 °C.

The device is capable of pumping airflow up to 450 l/s and warming a room up to 32 °C.

Such pressure means you don't have to wait hours for the room to warm up or clear out after airing it out. Is this power enough for real home disinfection?

Filters Against Viruses and Odors

- The engineers bet on tight circular protection.

- The apparatus is equipped with two 360-degree circular filtration systems: a main filter and an activated carbon filter.

- A two-stage technology combining adsorption and decomposition is used to combat formaldehyde.

- The device also provides pet odor elimination.

As the manufacturer's report indicates, the device removes more than 99.99% of four viruses: H1N1, human coronavirus 229E, enterovirus EV71, and feline calicivirus.

The filtration system traps over 99.99% of certain viruses and bacteria.

In addition, the Dyson JH01 Cruise Airflow is capable of removing more than 99.99% of three types of bacteria: E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and pneumococcus. The effectiveness of fighting four groups of allergens exceeds 98%. These include dust mite allergens, cat dander, pollen, and mold.

The official price of the device is 5,199 yuan. In my view, paying that kind of money for a climate control unit only makes sense if you need a single, all-in-one solution for three tasks when there is no room for separate appliances. Overpaying for aviation technology purely for air purification without using the heater is completely irrational.

What changed

The latest model builds on this aerodynamic approach, pushing air flow up to 450 L/s. Priced at 5,199 yuan, bringing this machine home saves living space from being cluttered by three standalone appliances. Investing in the JH01 Cruise Airflow pays off only when all three functions run year-round, as paying extra for jet aerodynamics solely for basic purification is hard to justify.
