Xiaomi is launching the Poco X8 Power 5G featuring a massive 10,000 mAh silicon-carbon cell with 100W fast charging and 27W reverse power output. The new battery chemistry enables multi-day endurance without turning the device into an unwieldy brick.

Xiaomi is tackling battery anxiety with brute force: the company is preparing to launch the Poco X8 Power 5G, packing a massive 10,000 mAh battery. The official rollout begins in India on September 4. Promotional materials promise up to 3.5 days on a single charge and a six-year lifespan for its silicon-carbon cell without significant degradation. In practical terms, you can comfortably leave your power bank behind on weekend trips. Furthermore, with 27W reverse wired charging, the phone can double as a portable charger for wireless earbuds or a friend’s dying device. Refilling the massive cell won't take all day either, thanks to 100W fast wired charging.

Beyond its record-breaking battery, the smartphone features a large 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a claimed peak brightness of 3,500 nits, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection, and top-tier IP69K dust and water resistance. The camera setup includes 50 MP and 8 MP rear sensors alongside a 32 MP front-facing camera. Long-term software support is also on the table, with Xiaomi promising four major Android OS upgrades and six years of security patches. Visually, the device stands out with an eye-catching yellow finish and an unmistakable camera module.

Silicon-carbon battery technology is finally making it possible to squeeze power-bank-level capacity into a standard smartphone chassis without creating an unwieldy brick. However, claims of multi-day endurance always warrant a reality check: an ultra-bright, power-hungry display can drain even a massive 10,000 mAh cell faster than expected. While nearly four days of autonomy sounds compelling on paper, real-world user testing will determine its true limits.
