This solar element will only painfully trickle-charge the battery while the laptop is powered down or sleeping under direct, blazing sunlight. Working out in the field while simultaneously charging the device under the open sky just will not happen.

For geologists, hikers, or field engineers, a ruggedized chassis is a clear win, protecting sensitive electronics from drops, mud, and rain. However, integrating a solar panel thickens the lid, complicates the build, and inevitably adds weight to an already bulky machine. You end up hauling extra grams in your backpack every single day for a feature you might only use in a survival scenario.
If you are actually planning an off-grid expedition, you are far better off leaving this hybrid on the shelf. Packing a standard rugged laptop, a reliable power bank, and a separate, properly sized foldable solar panel will deliver vastly better performance in genuine field conditions.
