hinese hardware maker FEVM has unveiled the FA80G, a mini PC that squeezes heavy-duty gaming desktop performance into a tiny 2.6-liter chassis no bigger than a stack of books. The engineering team pulled off a clever hybrid configuration: pairing a full-fledged flagship desktop Ryzen 9 9950X3D processor with a 24GB mobile GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU.
This hybrid setup sidesteps the primary thermal trap of ultra-compact builds. A standard desktop graphics card would turn such a compact box into a furnace. By contrast, the laptop GPU caps power draw at 150W, keeping thermals manageable via four heat pipes and dedicated dual-zone cooling. The desktop CPU is constrained to a 90W power envelope—more than enough headroom for heavy workloads and maxed-out gaming settings. Inside, the enclosure accommodates two DDR5 memory slots (up to 128GB) and two high-speed M.2 SSD slots supporting up to 8TB each.
The consumer payoff is obvious: you can ditch the bulky full-tower case without sacrificing top-tier performance. However, extreme miniaturization comes with compromises. Small cooling fans will inevitably spin at high RPMs and generate noticeable noise under heavy loads. Furthermore, the GPU is soldered directly to the motherboard, ruling out any future graphics card upgrades.
In China, the entry-level configuration with a Ryzen 7 9700X and mobile RTX 5060 starts at 7,599 yuan (around $1,130), while the flagship RTX 5090 build tops out at 24,199 yuan (roughly $3,600). FEVM has not yet announced international availability.
