Durabook Z14I-DX3 packs three folding screens into a 10-kilogram workstation

Durabook designed an armored workstation featuring three built-in 14-inch touchscreens that fold together for field operations. Weighing nearly 10 kilograms, the machine targets industrial command posts and enterprise users who need multi-monitor setups in extreme environments.

Dragging three separate monitors into the mud, driving rain, or a remote job site is an instant logistical nightmare. Durabook designed the Z14I-DX3 precisely to eliminate that headache by packing three separate 14-inch displays into a single, aggressively armored mobile workstation. Unlike consumer add-ons that clamp onto fragile laptop lids with cheap plastic hinges, these two extra screens are permanently bolted to the main chassis and fold inward for safe transport.

All three panels are Full HD touchscreens running on Durabook’s proprietary DynaVue tech. They push up to 1,200 nits of peak brightness—meaning you can actually read them under glaring direct sunlight—and register inputs whether you are wearing heavy work gloves, using a stylus, or drenched in water.

The arrangement is far more practical than simply having a very wide desktop.

Instead of stretching a single panoramic image across three separate panels, each display acts independently. In a makeshift field command post, an operator can pull up map coordinates on the left screen, live drone feeds in the middle, and system telemetry on the right without constantly clicking back and forth through hidden windows.

Built Like an Armored Safe

Beneath the heavy-duty exterior, Durabook packed the Z14I-DX3 with Intel Core Ultra processors, ranging from the Core Ultra 5 125U up to the Core Ultra 7 165U. You can spec it with up to 64GB of DDR5 memory. For heavy-duty mapping and rendering tasks, you can ditch the built-in Intel graphics and upgrade to dedicated workstation hardware like an NVIDIA RTX A500, RTX 3500 Ada, or RTX 5000 Ada.

The machine is rated to survive extreme temperatures, operating anywhere from a freezing -29 degrees Celsius to a blistering 63 degrees Celsius. But all that physical armor and multi-panel metal framing extracts an unavoidable price on your physical well-being.

Portability at Ten Kilograms

The complete setup measures 391 by 298 by 137.5 millimeters and tips the scales at a staggering 9.8 kilograms. That is roughly seven times the weight of a standard office laptop you carry to a coffee shop.

Durabook pitches the Z14I-DX3 as the ultimate portable command center you can deploy anywhere on Earth. The machine is available right now for enterprise orders, though Durabook has strategically omitted the retail price—a reliable sign that if you have to ask, your company’s procurement department cannot afford it anyway.
